Mediscan Ultrasound Service
Should you require an Ultrasound, this can be carried out at the practice by a referral from your GP.
Social Prescribing Link Workers
The Social Prescribing Link Workers work with all the surgeries in The Valleys Primary Care Network, including here at the practice. They support patients by providing individual, person centred help with their health and social care needs.

We provide early morning, evening and weekend appointments to give our patients the best access to our services.

Tuesday until 9pm with Anne Byrne (PN)
Friday evening and Saturday morning appointments are available at our neighbouring practices within our Valleys PCN
Spirometry
We now offer in house Spirometry appointments, Spirometry is a non-invasive objective test to identify abnormalities in the lung volumes and airflow. It is an essential investigation for diagnosis of COPD, asthma (when required) and other respiratory conditions. These will be arranged by your doctor or nurse.

Private Work Fees
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.).
- Insurance claim forms.
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad.
- Private sick notes.
- Vaccination certificates.
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
MSK Assessment
We can now offer in house MSK assessment appointments. A physiotherapist will assess you and diagnose what is happening,
give expert advice on how to best manage your condition and can order medication when required.. Also then can order xrays, scans and refer you on to specialist services if necessary.
You can self refer. No need to see the doctor, just speak to reception.
NHS Health Checks
Patients aged 40 – 74 who are not already receiving any review may attend to have a health screening which will include a check on their cholesterol level.
Family Planning
A full range of contraceptive services and advice is available, this includes the fitting of implants and coils. Contact reception to arrange an appropriate appointment.
Emergency Contraception
Kirklees Sexual Health Clinic provide all forms of Emergency Contraception including tablets and emergency coil – a full list of services and clinic details can be found on their website: www.locala.org.uk/services/sexual-health.
Emergency tablets are available from the pharmacy or at an appointment with the doctor.
Diabetic Clinic
Our Diabetic clinic is run by Practice Nurse Anne Byrne supported by the lead GP Dr D Ashraf. We invite all diabetic patients to an annual checkup.
