When the surgery is closed you can telephone 111 which is the NHS service to assist you with access to urgent local health services.
Alternatively ring the usual surgery number and you will then automatically be transferred to the out-of-hours service.
The nearest walk-in centre is Clayton Hospital, Northgate, Wakefield WF1 3JS.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
On one half day per month (usually a Tuesday afternoon) the doctors can attend useful training sessions or seminars together. There are no GP sessions during this time.
The surgery will close during the lunchtime period for staff training or meetings.
If you need medical assistance during this time please dial 111. Calls to the NHS 111 service are free. If you have a life threatening emergency please dial 999.
111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.
Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:
If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
